Terms of Use

Company: Nomad G.K. (ノマド合同会社) (“Nomad”, “we”, “us”, “our”)
App: “Nomad JP” (the “App”)

1. Acceptance

By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”) and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains data handling (including essential service analytics, advertising, and third-party services). If these Terms conflict with the Privacy Policy on data handling specifics, the Privacy Policy takes precedence.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country that permits use of apps like this). If the App offers user accounts, you are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

3. License & Intellectual Property

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial travel planning and discovery. All content, features, trademarks, and code are owned by Nomad or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works except where permitted by law.

4. User Content

If the App allows you to create or share content (e.g., lists, itineraries, reviews, notes, photos), you retain ownership of your content. You grant Nomad a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display that content solely to operate, improve, and provide the App and related services. You are responsible for the content you submit and must have all necessary rights.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Violate laws or third-party rights (including IP and privacy rights)

  • Upload unlawful, harmful, or misleading content

  • Interfere with or disrupt the App, attempt to bypass security, or misuse reporting/feedback features

  • Scrape, bulk download, or resell the App or its data without our written consent

6. Location Services

The App may request access to your device location to power nearby search, maps, and similar features. We do not store or cache your precise location on our servers. Location processing occurs on-device and/or via your device OS/location provider. You can disable location permission at any time in your device settings; certain features may not function without it.

7. Advertising & Affiliates

The App displays advertising (including banners and interstitials). Ads may be contextual or, where permitted by law and your choices, personalised. We obtain consent where required (e.g., in the EEA/UK) and you can change choices at any time in Profile → Privacy or via OS settings (e.g., App Tracking Transparency). We may receive compensation via affiliate links or sponsorships. We are not responsible for third-party sites, products, or services.

7A. Essential Service Analytics

To operate core features, we collect anonymised (or pseudonymous) usage breadcrumbs such as view/interaction counts for places, events, and curated banners. These are strictly necessary to provide the App, do not include precise location or information that directly identifies you, and are not used for personalised advertising. 7B. User History (Recent Items)

To help you quickly rediscover places, events, areas, articles, itineraries, and lists you recently viewed, and to personalise in-app recommendations, we maintain a per-user server-side history of up to 100 items. We store only what is necessary (i.e. item identifier, item type, and the timestamp of your view) and rotate entries on a first-in, first-out basis at the cap. You can clear your history at any time in the in-app history menu (without deleting your account), and your history will also be deleted if you delete your account.


First-party only. User History is stored only on our servers and not shared with third parties (including advertising or analytics partners).


Purpose. User History is service-essential and used to operate Recent Items and personalised recommendations that are fundamental to the App experience. It is not used for personalised advertising.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates third-party services: Google Maps Platform (maps/geocoding/tiles), Google AdMob / Google Ad Manager (ad delivery/measurement), YouTube web player (embedded video), and New Relic (diagnostics/performance). Our service providers generally act as processors on our instructions; certain partners (e.g., Google for personalised ads/measurement) may act as independent controllers for their limited purposes under their own terms and privacy policies. For embedded YouTube content, the YouTube/Google terms and policies apply; where feasible, we use privacy-enhanced modes and defer loading until user interaction. See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Travel/Information Disclaimer

Content in the App is for informational purposes only. Venues, events, schedules, and conditions can change without notice. You assume all risk for your activities, including transportation, health/safety, and compliance with local laws and customs. Nomad is not a travel agency and does not guarantee availability, safety, accuracy, or suitability of any place or event.

10. Changes & Updates

We may modify the App or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective Date.” Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time (e.g., for violations of these Terms or to protect users/app integrity). Upon termination, your license ends and you must stop using the App. Sections that by nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitations, governing law) will survive.

11A. User-initiated Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time (in-app via Profile → Privacy → Delete account) or submit a deletion request via our website. We may require identity verification. We will action website requests within 30 days (or notify you if an extension is permitted by law). Deleting your account is irreversible and will end your licence. We will delete or anonymise personal data linked to your account, subject to records we must retain for legal obligations or legitimate interests (e.g., security, fraud prevention, tax/audit). Residual encrypted copies may persist temporarily in backups and will be purged in the ordinary course of backup cycles. Content that has been shared with others may remain visible to those users. 12. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. While we employ industry-standard security measures to protect the App, associated data, and services, we do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted, completely secure, or error-free.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nomad and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of (a) JPY 10,000 or (b) the amounts you paid to us (if any) during the 12 months before the claim.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Nomad from and against all liabilities, damages, claims, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms or applicable law.

15. Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict of laws. The Tokyo District Court will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws in your country provide you mandatory rights or forums.
